Temple Square

We managed to make it to Temple Square while we were in Salt Lake (Travis' wedding was in Bountiful).  Here's Kendri and Uncle Philip.  The grounds were beautiful - as always.

The kids had a great time with all the interactive parts in the visitors center.  Kyson had a great time sprinting around like a kid who just downed a 2 liter bottle of Red Bull.  Which he hadn't.  But you couldn't tell.

I told everyone to pick out their favorite flowers and we would get a picture of it - Lexi was the only one who actually did it.  Kyson was too busy running away from me.  And I think Kendri just didn't do it.

I've always loved this statue of Christ! I like the feeling of being in heaven.:) One of my favorite parts of Temple Square.

Some of the cousins.

And Salt Lake Temple itself!  Our "Mansion" was only a few miles from the temple so we were close.

Wedding Reception

And the fun continues......Here's the happy couple with their "future" family.  JK.  No one deserves that kind of punishment. :)  All the nephews and nieces.

Kendri and Brooklyn sat there and drooled over the cake.  Can you see the longing in their eyes???  They thought it was the most beautiful thing ever!

Shayli took a few days to warm up to her surroundings in Utah.  She was pretty much glued to her mommy for a good portion of the trip.  Here is a rare picture of her without her mommy and without tears!

Just one of the many tactics used to try and keep Kyson under control.  Thanks Uncle Flop - Flop and Uncle Dan-O!

The promised dancing.  There was many more pictures of everyone breaking it down.  But this will have to do for now.

And we had to have a sister picture!  And Shayli wouldn't allow it without her!

Wedding Post

We were able to go to Utah over Memorial Day weekend for Travis (my brother) and Jessica's wedding.  The wedding was in the Bountiful Temple and was beautiful.  I have no pictures from that.....it was rainy and cold and windy outside.  And I was too busy chasing Kyson around and trying to keep Shayli happy.  Here are some of the pictures we snapped while waiting for the reception to start.  As you can see, we are totally practicing our modeling skills! (Not to mention the director skills...Nice!)

Let's go girls!  Show us whatcha got!  I don't know who was having a better time,  the director or the models!

Lexi, Abby, Kendri and Brooky!  They were so excited to wear their dresses.  They had been asking me for the past month!  You won't find 4 girls who like to dress up more than these girls.  We are talking girlie-girls!  :)  And yes, I was a tom-boy and so was Amber.  This is all so confusing.  It must come from their fathers!

This is the only picture of all the grandchildren where no one is beating the other one up.  Those little boys gave us a run for our money. At least Kyson did. :)

And who can have a wedding without a beautiful bride??? This is right up Lexi's alley. So here is the preview to the reception.  Next post......Dancing!

Isn't She Sweet?

If this little face doesn't melt your heart, then you have a chunk of solid granite in your chest cavity!  I "heart" my babies. :)

Banana Boats

We barbequed for the first time this spring on Sunday.  (Well, the first time at our house anyway.)
Thanks to the Girl's Camp certification I was in charge of, we've discovered banana boats. Mmmmm, good.  If you've never experienced them, I suggest you try it at your next camp out or barbeque.  Who can say "no" to marshmallows, chocolate chips, and brown sugar all shoved into a banana and then grilled. Not me.
I decided to finish off some cream I had sitting in my refrigerator.  Threw that on top of everything.  Wasn't a mistake, that's for sure.
Kyson is a fan of anything sweet.  I think he ate everything except the banana.
Delicious!

See?

Proof that he does stop eventually.....He's been falling asleep in my bed at bedtime.  Otherwise, he's in and out of his bedroom and it keeps Shayli awake.  I move him when I get sleepy but some nights he comes back to cuddle or he'll call out for me in the middle of the night.  When I get there he says, "sleep with me for one minute."  And he holds up on finger. Sometimes I still hear him humming himself to sleep like he used to do when he was a baby.  It makes me smile.  They sure grow up fast!

Happy Mother's Day!

We had a great Mother's Day at our house.  I was awakened with breakfast in bed again.  It's becoming quite the tradition.  Actually, I woke up before anyone came into my room.  I could hear all the excited whispers downstairs while everyone got my "gourmet" breakfast ready.  Lucky Charms = lucky me!  I think the kids get more excited about holidays that don't involve presents for them....

Who wouldn't love these kids?  I tell ya, I'm the luckiest mom in the world.  And if you don't believe me, just check out my Mother's Day Cake.  Yum!  Okay, I'll let the cat out of the bag.  I made it.  I just had Ryan hold it for me.  :)  But what I didn't make was the iPad I opened up.  Sa-Weet.  What can I say, I'm tech junkie.  Not.  But I should be with all my tech-y things.
So, to sum up my day.  Fabulous.  Breakfast in bed, no Ward Council, church and flowers, Angels Camp for dinner, and presents in between.  Can't wait for the next one!
